Ten years ago I started Studio Spade to create a space for myself and my children to develop our art which quickly grew into a creative space for many of our friends as well. I could never have imagined it would blossom in to a business teaching classes Monday through Friday, specialty workshops and summer programs. Several of my programs have grown out of my relationships with my students and their families, especially my middle and high school students. I am grateful that you have been so committed to art and that I have been able to be a part of that.
While having my own studio has its benefits it does not afford me the flexibility that I need at this time in my life. As I say goodbye to my own art studio business I look forward to continuing to bring art to the community and working alongside other talented artists and art teachers. I absolutely love teaching art and will continue teaching. I will be at the Coral Springs Museum of Art this summer (and beyond). I will also be developing art workshops (including the Community Art Projects) with Broward Art Guild and Ms. Victoria.
I will keep people updated via the Studio Spade e-newsletter. You can sign up here: firstname.lastname@example.org or on the Contact tab above.
No words can truly express how precious these last ten years have been to me. I am thankful that through your support I was able to create a safe, comfortable and creative place for students, which includes my own two daughters. Art is about many things and I have found most importantly it is about developing lifelong relationships that honor and respect our creative voices.
Keep creating! Ms. Simone
