This series of art pieces are inspired by my many years visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Pacific Grove beaches. All artwork is acrylic on wood panels. The seaweed and giant kelp allow light to filter through at varying depths which creates a series of patterns and shapes. My interest in seahorses began as an interest in their unique shape and prehistoric past. As I have learned more about them I have found a kinship to their ability “to go with the flow” and to be consistently calm in turbulent seas. These two themes, the seaweed and the seahorse compliment each other and offer endless creative possibilities that I continue to explore. All works on wood are painted in acrylics.
